The City of Kamloops is a vibrant community with a population of over 90,000 people. However, the residents of Ord Road are currently without access to public transportation. This lack of service greatly impacts their ability to commute for work, education and other essential activities.

Public transportation is not just about mobility; it's about equal access to opportunities and improving the quality of life for all residents. According to Statistics Canada, approximately 12% of households in Kamloops do not have access to a vehicle. For these households and many others who prefer environmentally friendly transport options, public bus service is crucial.

We urge the City Council of Kamloops to establish a public bus service for the people on Ord Road. This action will ensure that all citizens have equitable access to transportation services within our city.
