The Kahe’a Heiau Complex, found in the ahupua’a of Pāwili, on the island of Lāna’i, contains information that is culturally and historically significant. Therefore, preservation measures, consisting of the clearing of vegetative growth, establishment of protective barriers, and the erection of educational signage along the perimeter of this site, must commence, since this site is highly susceptible to desecration and site disturbances, especially from bulldozing activities. 

Those who are cultural or lineal descendants of the ahupua’a of Pāwili are asked to support the aforementioned preservation measures. Concerned members of the community are also being asked to support current preservation measures. If you are affiliated with an NHO [Native Hawaiian Organization], then you are presently being asked to step forward and support the current preservation measures.
