There was close to 100 people that showed up for her memorial. There were elders in The Village, classmates, former coworkers and best friends that showed up to allow the warmth and the vitality of her life, to bellow through that park. The balloon release was even more miraculous. All of the different shades and variations of blue and gold was released with sorrow, sadness, and even grief as the balloons cascade through the air in an effortless display of love and togetherness. There was not a dry eye in the place! My daughter made a difference in this life to other others, and she will make a difference in the lives to prevent crimes to come. This is the difference that #KiyahsLaw will promote when this law is enacted. I pray that you will be able to share this update with others to allow them to sign the petition so that we can be ready, when the government opens, to begin steps, to generate the optics of what this will mean and make this law happen, sooner than later.
