As a content creator, I am constantly navigating the complex world of copyright. My work involves creating song covers (Karaoke, a cappella, own instrumental), which often puts me at odds with existing copyright laws. These laws are not consistent worldwide and can stifle creativity and innovation. 

Fair use is a doctrine in the law of the United States that permits limited use of copyrighted material without having to first acquire permission from the copyright holder. However, this concept is not universally recognized or applied consistently across countries.

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), while some countries have fair dealing provisions in their copyright laws that allow for certain uses of copyrighted works without permission from the owner - such as for criticism or review - these provisions vary widely from one country to another.

This lack of consistency can hinder creative expression and innovation on a global scale. It's time we establish fair use laws worldwide that protect both creators and copyright holders alike.
