I'm writing this petition because of a personal incident that happened to my friend. She was wearing shorts to her mid-thigh and was told to go get a pair of sweats. The next class period, I walked by a guy wearing shorts way above mid-thigh, showing his boxers. I assumed he would be dress coded later, but throughout the day nobody said anything to him. There are more situations like this in Meade County Schools this is just one of many.

This incident is not isolated - it's reflective of an unfair system that disproportionately targets female students in our schools here in Meade County, KY. According to the National Women's Law Center, girls are more likely than boys to be body-shamed or punished for their clothing choices at school (source: National Women's Law Center). This is not just about clothes; it's about equality and respect.

We need fair dress codes that apply equally to all students regardless of their gender. We need policies that focus on education rather than policing bodies. We need changes now.
