As a former Parks and Recreation employee and ice rink guard in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for over six years, I've seen firsthand the immense benefits that an ice rink can bring to a community. It's not just about sports or competition; it's about fostering communal togetherness, promoting wellness, and creating lasting memories.

Ocala deserves this same opportunity. Our city is known for its stifling heat - an INDOOR synthetic ice rink is fast, inexpensive, and easy to install. A REAL ICE rink would provide a refreshing change of pace while also offering health benefits from physical activity. Beyond individual wellbeing, it would open doors for leagues, competitions and lessons that foster community spirit.

Florida is home to numerous local ice rinks that have proven beneficial to their communities' recreation. For instance, according to the Florida Skating Academy (FSA), skating activities contribute significantly towards improving physical fitness levels among participants.

We propose the establishment of an ice rink via Ocala Parks and Recreation approval as well as county commission support. We envision gathering funds necessary to hire top-notch civil engineers and architects who can bring this dream into reality.
