We’re making progress to bring a tuition-free K-8 Mandarin Immersion school to San Francisco!

We’ve completed material steps in parallel to seek SFUSD approval for a K-8 MI charter school, Dragon Gate Academy.

The final step needed before submitting to SFUSD for review, holding a public hearing, and ultimately gaining approval is to gather enough parent and teacher signatures on the official "SFUSD Charter Petition," which simply expresses meaningful interest.

After entering your name and email, you’ll complete a brief DocuSign-style petition stating your general interest in the charter school.

If all parents and teachers who signed our Change.org petition also sign this official petition, we’ll demonstrate overwhelming community support, making it difficult for SFUSD to deny our charter.

Dragon Gate Academy, if approved, could offer a transformative K-8 experience on a single campus, ensuring continuity for sustained Mandarin and Cantonese fluency. Students will thrive with a robust curriculum in Math, Science, and Social Studies, integrated with daily language immersion, preparing them to be global citizens who bridge cultures.

Parents will gain access to a tuition-free MI education—unlike private schools with fees up to $45,000—while teachers will find a supportive and flexible environment to innovate in bilingual education.
