The Issue

In the face of ongoing civil unrest, it’s more important than ever that we stand together and take constructive action. I believe a core component of this action is addressing the current immigration policy in our country. Our failure to manage the influx of asylum seekers has led to a mounting backlog and an increased pressure on our border security, contributing to social unease and confusion.

We propose that until this backlog is cleared, our nation implements a net zero immigration policy, effectively halting new asylum applications. In tandem with this, we should strengthen our border security and establish a policy to responsibly return illegal immigrants to their last country of residence. This isn't about closing off our borders entirely, but about creating a more controlled, fair, and manageable immigration process which takes into account both humanitarian concerns and national security.

A better managed immigration policy is one way we can unite under a common cause, presenting a united front to our politicians. It's time to stop brushing off immigration debates as only 'far-right' and start constructive conversations. This petition is a powerful message that we are ready for change. Sign this to help drive the change we seek.
