In 2023 alone, a staggering 21% of all mothers in the United States were single mothers. This isn't an isolated incident, meaning that this is, and has been, a recurring problem. In 2016 alone, 40% of all live births in the United States were to single mothers or those living with a nonmarital partner. Considering the current population of the United States is over 330 million, this represents a significant portion of our community's fabric!

This issue is deeply personal to me, too. My girlfriend, Autumn, a single mother since 2022, embodies the very essence of perseverance. Every day, she teaches her beautiful infant daughter about the world, bringing absolute joy to those around her! Autumn's tireless dedication, along with that of all other gracious single mothers across the country, often goes unrecognized. The outright dedication that single mothers like Autumn employ in raising their children, often amid incredible challenges, deserves national recognition.

Therefore, I am advocating for the creation of a National Award that honors the tireless work, dedication, and tenacity of single mothers across the United States. They are the mothers who play a dual role, nurturing and guiding their children through life's unique challenges with love and commitment.
