A couple of years ago, I moved to the Thurrock Borough and immediately felt the absence of a Hindu temple. Our children, the youth and future of tomorrow are at risk of losing the basic foundations of being good Hindus if there is no local temple to encourage them to attend. Currently, there is no temple within an 18-mile radius from Thurrock which makes it difficult for us to commute.

We are currently the only faith in this borough without a formal place of worship. This lack not only hinders our religious practices but also affects our sense of community and belongingness. The establishment of a Hindu Temple would provide an essential space for worship, cultural exchange, and community building among Hindus living in Thurrock.

It's time we address this disparity and ensure that all faiths have their rightful place within our diverse community. Let's work together towards establishing a Hindu Temple in Thurrock Borough - because everyone deserves access to their place of worship close to home.
