Establish a football program at Angeline Academy of Innovation
The Issue
The students of Angeline Academy of Innovation, situated in Pasco County, FL, passionately request the establishment of a football program at our school. Currently, over 15 AAI students, who are skilled and trained football players, face the challenge of playing the sport they love for other schools or have stopped altogether due to transportation issues. These challenges have not only hindered their growth as athletes but have also impacted their sense of community and school pride.
Football is far more than just a sport; it instills values such as discipline, leadership, teamwork, and resilience, all of which are critical in shaping well-rounded individuals. Introducing a football program would significantly enhance student engagement, foster unity, and provide increased opportunities. With the right infrastructure, Angeline Academy can become a hub for nurturing talents and paving pathways for athletic scholarships and recognition for our deserving students.
Moreover, there is substantial community support, with experienced coaches (including former NFL player James Wilder Jr.) ready to lead and fundraising plans already in motion. This Football program would bring students, families, and faculty together to support a common cause ,building a stronger, more spirited community. These initiatives demonstrate the community's commitment to seeing our students reach their fullest potential both on and off the field.
By signing this petition, you are supporting a cause that will enrich our school's culture, contribute positively to our students' futures, and uphold the much-needed spirit of unity and teamwork at Angeline Academy of Innovation. Join us in this endeavor to build a brighter future for our athletes and for our school as a whole.
Update:
A local business owner and parent at Angeline Academy has generously offered to contribute toward fundraising for helmets and other program needs.
James Wilder Jr., along with three fellow retired NFL players, two of whom are Super Bowl champions, have committed to coaching and mentoring OUR AAI students completely free of charge.
They have all previously coached in several Central Florida Counties and are passionate about giving back to our community.
James have made a personal pledge $10,000 to help get this program off the ground because of the incredible potential it holds for scholarship and College recruitment opportunities for AAI Students. (Football Athletes, Cheerleaders, Band members, etc)
With additional parent donations and potential NFLPA grants up to $25,000, we have a real opportunity to build something impactful for the school, students, and community.
Football is more than a game, it’s a catalyst for unity, school pride, and personal growth. A strong football program can elevate student engagement, build lasting community connections, and foster a culture of discipline, leadership, and belonging that extends far beyond the field.
