16th December 2025 marks 900 DAYS since Boxted Bridge was closed after concerns were raised about safety following a principal bridge inspection (PI). 

Closure was to be instigated after 24 hours of this Notice on 28th June 2024 and then 'A structural assessment based on the recent findings of the PI should be undertaken urgently in order to better understand the risks to the public.' 

It took OVER TWO YEARS for any structural assessment to finally take place, the Accolade load test on the bridge on Sep 10 2025.  This takes the words 'urgent' and 'Emergency Action' to a new level.

Requests to see the long overdue verified load test report remain unanswered.
