“The current bridge, although accessible to pedestrians, does not include any such space for them to stop safely and enjoy the views of the river from the bridge” (Justification Report 3.3)

Nothing makes sense:  as anyone who knows the current bridge footprint it is perfectly safe for pedestrians to enjoy the views from the bridge. The bridge is in the middle of a rural network of narrow lanes with passing places and has a very low traffic count and low traffic speeds.  Introducing an extensive area of 'hard standing' on the bridge is unnecessary and would urbanise the heart of the Dedham Vale National Landscape.
