"-No risk assessment of how the new design might facilitate greater speeds for vehicles passing over the bridge. In the past major strikes to the garden wall of Boxted Mill have been collisions caused by inebriated drivers, the new bridge would mean the collision course would be with the key corner beam of Island Cottage. It was incorrectly assumed by Essex Highways the cottage was made of brick. If a principle upright beam of the cottage was struck then it could cause total collapse of the structure and kill any occupants".
