"Colchester Borough Council remains supportive of the repair and upgrading of the existing structure given the sensitivity of the site from both a heritage and biodiversity perspective. We find the latest representation submitted by Ed Morton, a well-respected CARE registered engineer, convincing and sound in its approach. For this reason, our objections to the replacement of the existing bridge stand and we recommend the repair and upgrading of the bridge is undertaken in view of the built and natural heritage constraints that define the project".
