Water voles are an endangered, protected species however this one is happily very much alive and living somewhere beside Boxted Bridge. Essex Highways intends to replace the current bridge with a massive new one. If their planning application is successful, vegetation will be cut down behind the watervole and there will be massive disruption caused by construction. We don't think the local water voles will be happy about this. The Essex Wildlife Trust have been informed of the sighting and have since sent an objection.

Please share the petition with anyone you think might care about repair and refurbishment v unnecessary costly raze and build. We thought ECC's 'Net Zero: Making Essex Carbon Neutral Essex Climate Action Commission understood this.
