Stop Speeding, Accidents and Danger to our Families in our Community

The Issue

The streets of Escondido have been plagued by reckless drivers that continue to drive unabated by our city. While people continue to speed at twice the limit through our neighborhood, crash into parked cars, sign posts, homes and even into people, our city government does nothing.

Escondido is built to be a residential community. Homes and churches fill our streets, which calls for a maximum speed limit of 25mph, but instead many of our neighborhoods and subjected to 30, 35, 40, or even 45mph through a residential neighborhood where families live, children play, and drivers continue to speed over those limits without repercussion!

As citizens of Escondido we must demand safer streets to improve the quality of life, the quality of our neighborhoods, and to defend the safety of our friends and families. .

We demand that the Escondido City Council and the Mayor of Escondido move quickly to lower speed limits to a maximum of 25 mph in all neighborhoods consisting of only homes and churches, install speed bumps, install attractive traffic circles, and implement other traffic mitigating measures.

How many more accidents must we bear witness to each night without any recourse? How many more speeding cars must we watch fly by our homes while biting our nails and praying they don't hit someone we love? How many more times must we bring this critical subject up to our city leaders before they finally listen and take action?

Reduce speed limits, implement traffic mitigation and make our streets safe. We deserve better in Escondido!
