Norway already exports 10 times more carbon than it emits, which makes the country the seventh biggest climate polluter in the world. Now the major Norwegian political parties wants to push forward with a search for more petroleum and gas in the Barents sea. Research says 12 gigatonnes of carbon could be added by these exploration sites and elsewhere over the next 50 years, which is 1.5 times more than the Norwegian fields currently being tapped or under construction. Norway is currently not on its way to meeting the the goals set in the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

It is not to late. These plans have yet to be approved, and there is a hope that Norwegian officials will listen. That is why your signature matters. Without anyone raising their voice, the plans will most likely be put into action, though.
