Dear Supporters:
We have learned a lot about the staggering amount of money being spent with Measure HHH funds. Report after report states the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, has cleared the way for developers to get taxpayer funded loans from the City of Los Angeles to build luxury condos for as much as $750,000 per unit!
In the meantime, three years after voters approved $1.2 billion to house and help the homeless, we know, not one unit is complete! We also know when Measure HHH was first enacted in 2016, the ballot text stated Los Angeles city had 26,000 homeless.
Read the ballot text for yourself:
Per the June 2019 count, there were 36,300 homeless people in Los Angeles. This number represents more than 10,300 people on our streets after taxpayers generously gave $1.2 billion to help our citizens.
We also know it will take another three to six years to complete the luxury units, but it is not clear where funds for completion will come from and how much more money will come out of the general fund and other unnamed sources. This is outrageous and not what we signed up for!
As we are in the final review process with the Los Angeles City Clerk’s Office for official circulation, please visit the campaign website and donate and help us get rid of this Mayor!
