Dear Angels Flight Friends and Neighbors, Thank you for your continued support of Angels Flight Railway. This week, Los Angeles Magazine published a blog post about Angels Flight, inspired by the trailer for a forthcoming film called "La La Land." The point they make is a good one: "If Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone Can Make Out On Angels Flight, We Should Be Able To, Too." http://www.lamag.com/driver/if-ryan-gosling-and-emma-stone-can-make-out-on-angels-flight-we-should-be-able-to-too/ This week marks a year since we petitioned Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to help cut the red tape that is holding our beloved funicular hostage. He passed the problem over to Metro, who produced a report about the situation. So everyone knows more about why Oviatt and Sinai are stuck in mid-air. But still, Angels Flight isn't running. And so this petition remains active, and each time someone signs it, the Mayor gets an email reminder that people love Angels Flight Railway and want him to do more help get it running again. Please share the petition link with your friends, and dream with us about the day when kissing is again in season aboard this landmark funicular railway. What's next for Angels Flight? The non-profit board continues its fundraising to cover ongoing insurance and upkeep costs, and is working with engineers on a design for a track-side walkway as required by the state regulators. We'll let you know when there's more news to share. Viva Angels Flight! Kim Cooper & Richard Schave Esotouric / Angels Flight Friends and Neighbors Society
