Good Day Citizens!!

We are just over 8900 signatures and I’ve been back and forth with Councilman Jeffry Young’s office. Jeffry is in the 5th district which represents Rittenhouse Square and his reps stated that they would support this memorial moving forward. I was instructed to contact the "Friends of Rittenhouse Square" which is a non-profit that oversees all projects affecting the Square.

A rep from "Friends of Rittenhouse Square” has informed me that they’ve reached out to Pierre’s family as well as some other key people to share options for a suitable memorial. After receiving quotes from a few sculptors, I’ve found that a bench statue like the one mentioned in our petition can cost upwards of $150,000 to cast and with “FORS” being a non-profit, they don’t have the budget for such an undertaking. They did however state that they were hopeful to share some news on the topic before too long. 

At this point, we will keep collecting signatures but it’s my opinion that Pierre’s family should be making the call on how to honor him properly. Fingers crossed that this all works out.
