Hi everyone!

We have almost 500 signatures on this petition that is less than a week old! Thanks to all of you signing and sharing this, we have caught the attention of The Ledger and Fox 13 news.

Whether or not the city ends up giving us a tree, we have made it known that there's public desire for one, which will hopefully spur discussion in the Parks and Recreation department when future holiday decor is being decided. Please continue to share this with your friends and family so that city leadership sees how many people think this is a good idea. In comments and conversation, some of you have brought up the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority, but I feel this is a matter better steered toward Parks and Recreation, as they are responsible for decor throughout the entire city.

Our city is growing and our city is vibrant. I believe that our city leadership should make more investment into the beautification of Munn Park, which could very well start with the addition of a gorgeous tree this holiday season. A tree would draw people to the heart of downtown and give ample opportunity for the city to host holiday events around itm
