Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and stood with this campaign. Your support is the reason this issue is now being publicly discussed — and why we must keep going.

This week, Museums Journal published an important report confirming several key facts about the British Museum’s removal of the term “Palestine” from some displays. Here are the points that matter most:

The Sunday Telegraph reported that the British Museum withdrew terminology related to Palestine from several displays, including maps and information boards in the Ancient Middle East galleries.
The museum rejected the claim that it acted due to pressure from a pro‑Israel lawyers’ group — but did not deny that changes were made.
A petition calling for the reinstatement of the term “Palestine” has already gained significant support.
The issue has sparked widespread criticism and raised concerns about political influence over museum interpretation and historical terminology.
Despite certain posts on X claiming the story was a “misrepresentation,” there has been no official public statement from the British Museum addressing:

What was changed
Why was it changed
Who influenced the decision
Or how this affects Palestinians
And crucially:

No Palestinian — not the community, not the scholars, not the Ambassador — has been given any formal account of what happened.

Until Palestinians (and everyone else!) receive:

Full transparency, a full explanation, a full reversal of any changes, and they are physically shown what was altered, this campaign stands!
