The TDSB must be an active participant in fighting hate in our community.  Actively fighting hate requires proactive action.  It requires actively not tolerating the support of hateful messages among its students, teachers, staff, and administrators.  Actively fighting hate means actively teaching that hate is a vicious cancer that will destroy Canada's tolerant, liberal values.

Since October 7, 2023, Toronto has seen a 200% increase in Hate crimes.  In the month following Hamas' barbaric attack on Israeli citizens and Israel's military response against Gazans, there were 14 hate crimes reported in Toronto.  This represents a 200% increase over the prior year period.  Of the reported hate crimes 12 were anti-Semitic and 2  were anti-Muslim.  The rise in hate on the streets of Toronto must be stopped.

The TDSB must actively fight the growing tendency to support hateful actions against any and all its students.  It must actively fight hate against its LGBTQ+, Black, Muslim, and Jewish communities.  There must be a zero-tolerance policy against HATE.
