Petition Update: 165 Signatures and Growing Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, commented, messaged friends, and helped bring attention to this issue. We have reached 165 verified signatures, with 93 people signing this week, and we are now pushing toward the next goal of 200. This progress matters. This petition is not just a personal complaint or something I created on a whim. I am using the signatures, support, and personal stories from this petition to help show that there is a real access problem affecting military retirees and families in Puerto Rico. I am also sharing this information with Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner, Pablo José Hernández, and his office as this issue connects to H.R. 2632, the TRICARE Equality Act, which seeks to improve TRICARE administration in Puerto Rico. That is why your signature, share, and story matter. The veteran may receive care through the VA, but spouses, children, and dependents often rely on TRICARE. When TRICARE access does not work in Puerto Rico, the whole family feels it. Families may struggle to find providers, get appointments, understand claims, resolve billing issues, pay up front, or find offices that know how to properly process TRICARE. For some retirees, this becomes a painful decision: return home to Puerto Rico or stay in the mainland because healthcare access for their family is more reliable there. That should not be the choice. We served the same country. We followed the same orders. We paid into the same system. Our families sacrificed too.
