Equal Bonus For All Carehome Staff In Northamptonshire

The Issue

North and West Northamptonshire Councils announced, in December 2021, that care home workers will be awarded a bonus of £600 on March 31, 2022 for 'powering through' the coronavirus pandemic.

Our delight has now turned to disappointment after West Northamptonshire Council has now said that support staff' would not be eligible to claim - meaning those working in housekeeping, catering, administration and activities coordinating roles.

(WNC) says it cannot pay a bonus to all staff, so is instead allocating funds to frontline care workers who have been 'hardest hit.'

Everybody plays a vital role in looking after each resident, making sure they live in a nice livable environment and they have nutritious meals and they are mentally stimulated.

It just feels like support staff are not seen as important as carers. The council are making us work against each other and we are all doing the same job and I think it is disgusting they are doing this."

Please sign and make the council realise that we are all equal and deserve to be treat equal as well and all our job roles matter.

Just over a year ago I was nominated as a lock downhero. A year on myself and other Activities coordinators have just been forgotten about. For. Me. Personally it's not about the money. But we want to me recognised as being as important as the care staff
