Le problème

Dear Epic Games Team,

Since September 2021, more than 4.5 years ago, your own Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) has officially supported Linux and Proton (as announced on the Epic Online Services blog). Yet, in March 2026, Fortnite remains unavailable on Linux, even though the technical work is already complete.

The Linux gaming market is growing at an unprecedented pace:

Valve’s Steam Hardware Survey reached a new all-time high of 3.58 % Linux users in December 2025 (revised data), representing millions of active gamers on a platform with over 130 million monthly active users.
The Steam Deck has sold over 4 million units worldwide, driving massive adoption of Linux for gaming.
Gaming-focused distributions like Bazzite, CachyOS, and Pop!_OS are exploding in popularity and regularly appear in Steam surveys.
We are not asking for a full native Linux port. We simply ask you to enable the existing EAC + Proton support for Fortnite, a change that literally requires just a few clicks in the Epic Online Services portal, as you already do for many other titles.

This is a clear win-win for Epic:

You instantly reach a fast-growing, passionate, and extremely loyal player base.
You eliminate the need for risky unofficial Wine/Proton workarounds that often lead to unfair bans.
You reinforce Epic’s image as a company that truly supports open platforms (just like your past announcements regarding the Steam Deck).
Cheating is already widespread on Windows (hardware aim-assist controllers, scripts, etc.) despite EAC. Enabling Linux support will not create a new cheating problem, it will simply give millions of honest Linux players fair and official access to the game.

Epic, you have the technology ready since 2021. The community demand is real and growing every month. Please enable official Fortnite support on Linux today!

Thank you for reading and for considering this request. Every signature counts, please share this petition with your friends in the Linux, Steam Deck, and Fortnite communities!
