Whilst enforcing laws to lower or remove the risk of dangerous animals is paramount to the public, I believe that the mass culling of XL Bully dogs, most of whom have committed no offence, is inhumane. From February 1st 2024, it will be against the law to own an XL Bully without an exemption. As a result of no welfare plans for the Bully dogs, they now have no future. Many owners are abandoning their dogs and many more will seek to get them euthanised as a response to this law.

As a 26 year old man and an animal lover, I have been very disheartened to hear of the situation with XL Bullies, and their abandonments by owners and their deaths that are being railroaded through by this government policy. 
Whilst, meaning well for the public, this policy is also cruel and unnecessary, providing funds could be covered to shelter the surrendered dogs. 

I am urging the government to provide a living and care facility run by humane staff to look after the XL Bullies given up to the state and would like to see them neutered en masse whilst also being cared for for the rest of their lives in these facilities. 
I urge all animal lovers to sign this petition which I believe will offer the humane solution that protects the public form the threat that these dogs can pose whilst also protecting the dogs themselves and showing we are a humane country that values animal life. Now is the time to act before the euthanasia process comes into full effect. Thank you!
