This is a second petition run by our group - we have had many who have gone through investigations and found full detail appearing in local and national newspapers. 

This is devastating and makes it extremely difficult for anyone to move past what is printed as it is there forever for anyone to see. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation the individual will always been known as "that person"

We recognise that the public needs to be made aware and kept informed, but are hoping with some kindness we can encourage this not to occur until facts are proven  - rather than the damaging effects of speculation on the individual concerns, their families and their relatives and friends.

This is not meant to diminish any trauma that families affected by any incidents may be experiencing - we are completely supportive of the need for care and compassion to them - it is after all the heart of what we do. However, if press releases mean misinterpretation of the facts and wrongful convictions it will ultimately lead to more trauma for those families.
