NMC Nurses and Midwives condemmed
Apr 10, 2020

We have been contacted by many registrants in a dilemma as the COVID-19 crisis has brought letters to them asking them to return to practice.

For some this is not an option they wish to explore despite the unprecedented situation we are in and desperate times, the treatment they received when in the profession was too appalling to contemplate returning to it

The NMC, as a professional body is responsible for the deaths of at least 15 Nurses, by Suicide while they were under investigation by said NMC over the last 3 years. That, coupled with the treatment of these individuals by their employers in the NHS , is further compounded by over 300 other Nurses and Midwives, who additionally took their own lives, even without the sanctions imposed by the NMC , in the last Seven years- this as far as we know of course.

One of our supporters emailed a response back to the NMC as he found it was no surprise to him that the email requests from the NMC could only be responded to by either asking further questions or actually agreeing to return to practice. That in itself caused him to be angry. The only way he could notify them that I did not want to return was by not responding. So he wrote to them .....

The trauma that has been caused to our nurses and midwives has impact - it isn't their fault that they no longer practice in their trained profession - time to hold those accountable to account...
