Despite the NMC receiving a hefty fine in Feb 2013 we are still hearing from registrants who have experienced data protection breaches. Whilst they can contact the ICO to report these breaches many don't as they fear it will affect their case, or they just can't face "yet another battle"

As healthcare professionals we are like to be referred to the NMC if we do not comply with GDPR and yet our regulator does not hold the same accountability.

if it were a nurse repeatedly making these mistakes then we would inevitably be Struck Off the nursing register - so why should our regulator not be held to account
