Increased security at D103 schools last Friday was a positive experience for all. Police officers had brief visits with some classrooms and the children loved having Q&A with "special community helpers." Hopefully these experiences will show staff and admin benefit of hiring a permanent police officer to support our schools.
The Village also posted a nice image of a police officer interacting with some young children. (https://www.facebook.com/VillageofLincolnshire/
"The Adlai E. Stevenson High School Little Patriots love it when our police officers stop by to visit. This week Ofc. Plotke got to catch up with a few of her biggest fans over lunch! These interactions allow kids to see police officers as friends they can turn to if they have a problem."
Let's hope these positive experiences pave the way for a School Resource Officer in the future! Please encourage others to sign the petition and consider emailing Dr. Scott Warren (swarren@d103.org) to explain your support of a school resource officer for D103.
