It's not just personal; my oldest niece and numerous friends and family members also find themselves under constant threat. It's a shared fear that many within our community, as well as allies across the nation, feel daily. This country, once a beacon of hope and acceptance for so many, now feels unstable and hostile.

Our community should not have to face hatred and discrimination simply for existing. One of the most pressing concerns is the safety of our healthcare rights. The access to medically necessary treatments and procedures should be protected at all costs, free from discrimination or threat. Healthcare providers must be places of healing, not areas for prejudice.

Moreover, the very acts of living day-to-day, such as using public bathrooms, have become politicized battlegrounds for discrimination and hate. It's imperative that we work towards policies that ensure all public spaces, including restrooms, are safe and accessible for everyone, regardless of their gender identity.

The rhetoric from influential figures often fuels this hate. It's time for leadership that values love, acceptance, and support over division and hostility. We need policies that not only protect but celebrate diversity, making all people feel safe and respected in every aspect of their lives.
