Ensure Live Broadcast Access for Bangladeshi Fans During FIFA World Cup 2026
The Issue
The FIFA World Cup is the most celebrated sporting event for millions of fans in Bangladesh. However, during previous tournaments, a significant portion of the country faced broadcast blackouts due to licensing conflicts, cable disputes, and lack of accessible streaming options.
In 2022, entire districts went without legal access to live matches. Students, workers, and families were forced to rely on illegal streams or miss the games entirely. This not only deprives passionate fans but also undermines FIFA’s mission of making football truly global and inclusive.
We, the football fans of Bangladesh, respectfully request FIFA’s direct consideration and intervention to ensure that the World Cup 2026 broadcast rights for Bangladesh include:
Guaranteed nationwide coverage on free-to-air TV or affordable digital platforms
Transparent coordination with BTV, T-Sports, and other local broadcasters well ahead of the tournament
Anti-blackout safeguards so that no region is left behind due to commercial disputes
Bangladesh has one of the largest and most passionate football fanbases in South Asia. We believe every fan deserves the right to watch the World Cup without barriers. FIFA’s attention to this issue will restore faith for millions and protect the spirit of the game.

ফিফা ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ বাংলাদেশের কোটি কোটি মানুষের আবেগ। কিন্তু গত কয়েকটা ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপে লাইসেন্সিং জটিলতা, ক্যাবল কোম্পানির ঝামেলা, আর সহজ স্ট্রিমিং অপশন না থাকার কারণে দেশের বড় একটা অংশ খেলা দেখতে পারে নাই।২০২২ ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপের সময় অনেক জেলাতে বৈধ কোনো চ্যানেলেই খেলা দেখায় নাই। ছাত্র, কর্মজীবী, পরিবার সবাই বাধ্য হয়ে অবৈধ লিংকে খেলা দেখছে, অথবা খেলা মিস করছে। এটা শুধু ফ্যানদের বঞ্চিত করে না, ফিফার "ফুটবল ফর অল" মিশনের সাথেও যায় না।
আমরা, বাংলাদেশের ফুটবল প্রেমীরা, ফিফার কাছে বিনীত অনুরোধ জানাই যেন ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ ২০২৬ এর সময়:
১. সম্পূর্ণ বাংলাদেশে নিশ্চিত সম্প্রচার থাকে — বিটিভি বা সহজলভ্য ডিজিটাল প্ল্যাটফর্মে
২. টুর্নামেন্টের আগেই টি-স্পোর্টস, বিটিভি আর অন্য লোকাল ব্রডকাস্টারদের সাথে পরিষ্কার সমন্বয় করা হয়
৩. ব্ল্যাকআউট বিরোধী ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হয়, যাতে কমার্শিয়াল বিরোধের কারণে কোনো এলাকা বাদ না পড়ে
বাংলাদেশ দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার সবচেয়ে বড় এবং পাগলা ফুটবল ফ্যানবেজের একটা দেশ। আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, প্রত্যেক ফ্যানের অধিকার আছে বাধা ছাড়া ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ উপভোগ করার। ফিফার দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ ও পদক্ষেপ লাখ লাখ মানুষের আস্থা ফিরিয়ে আনবে আর ফুটবলের মৌলিক চেতনা রক্ষা করবে।
