Ensure Fair Treatment for Lyft Drivers

Ensure Fair Treatment for Lyft Drivers
The Issue
You or a loved one could quickly and very easily have your livelihood stripped away by a false accusation if you are a Lyft or Uber driver.
I have driven for Lyft in my spare time on and off since 2016. My most recent activity span was over 8 months and I drove 847 people to their destinations, safely and soundly.
On May 23, 2025, I was accused of assaulting a passenger on Dec. 1, 2024. Without any due process, I was immediately and irrevocably fired and banned from Lyft and Uber platforms even as a passenger. Mind you, the series of events left me with no transportation.
Police wouldn’t let me file a complaint of character defamation because Lyft refuses to release a copy of the statement so I can face my accuser in court, as my rights supposedly guaranteed. Thus, I am negligently being treated like I am automatic guilty. This can happen to you or someone you know, just as easily.

The solution : In this public notice, I seek for
Lyft Inc., to simply release the anonymous statement that resulted in my being considered a safety risk. Release a copy of the allegations that got me irrevocably terminated and banned from your share ride platforms, even as a passenger.
Replace the names with Jane/John Doe to ease liability concerns, so this matter may be handled by the proper authorities. To hide this statement is to hinder justice and show no regard for truth, due process, or any care for truth, nor the suffering lies can cause.
Hire Right Inc- to remove my name from your alleged safety threat database unless I am officially found guilty in court. Consider my sincere plea of “Not Guilty” beforehand and find reasonable doubt based on my true character, noting the lack of proof and inauthenticity of my accuser.
I also ask that you cease and desist from carelessly spreading rumors that I am a safety risk to other companies, however in good faith with your company another company may be. HireRight Inc has no written consent from me to collect, publish, or share any information about me with any third-party, Uber in particular.
When I’ve been proven innocent or Not proven guilty within a year of this allegation, I also look forward to a public apology from both companies.
My rights just seemingly have vanished beneath this insanity with absolutely no regard to any facts or truth. I am Not Guilty. I demand a fraction of Justice, because I deserve it.

[Many drivers dedicate countless hours and resources to ensuring passengers experience smooth and safe rides. However, the current system allows companies to terminate drivers without a fair investigation or an opportunity to defend themselves. This not only jeopardizes livelihoods but also lacks a fundamental respect for due process.
Approximately, there are 1.4 million Lyft drivers in the U.S as of 2022. Many of these drivers rely heavily on earnings from ride-sharing platforms to support their families. The implementation of unjust termination practices can leave many without income or means of transportation, as reported by various labor rights organizations.
A solution to this issue would involve establishing a formal review process, wherein drivers are given the opportunity to hear the allegations, respond with evidence, and challenge any wrongful claims. This framework should include a neutral third party to evaluate disputes fairly.
Calling for transparency in how decisions are made and how complaints are handled within Lyft and other ride-sharing platforms is crucial to achieving fairness. Establishing clear communication channels and protecting drivers from retaliation if they challenge accusations are necessary steps forward.
By signing this petition, we are advocating for the rights of countless drivers who face uncertainty and insecurity due to these unfair practices. We demand Lyft and Uber implement new policies that provide fair treatment and due process for all their drivers. Please join us in making life fairer for everyone who works tirelessly to transport people safely every day. Sign this petition to help create change.]
