The Issue

Mostly Fathers and even mothers are losing time with their children based off of false narratives, money and resentment. This behavior is causing emotional damage to the other parent, especially in good, pure-hearted parents. Children at a young age are adapted into a household where it becomes normalized to not see their other parent during holidays. They believe its okay until they grow older and could cause damage to them for a very long time. Without Fathers in their lives, they grow older to not be able to sustain a better life & creates separation from their fathers that we never wanted. This is a heartbreaking reality for mainly fathers and children across the state of Ohio.

In many cases, fathers are being unfairly alienated from their children due to biased custody arrangements and manipulative tactics. Good fathers, who genuinely wish to be part of their children's lives, are being sidelined due to resentment and financial motives. The pain and emotional distress caused by this alienation are unimaginable and have long-lasting effects on both the children and the fathers involved.

Parent alienation is not only emotionally damaging but also impacts the mental health and well-being of children. Studies have shown that children who grow up without a balanced parental presence tend to face issues such as lower self-esteem, anxiety, and difficulties in forming relationships later in life. We need to prioritize the welfare of our children by ensuring they have consistent and meaningful relationships with both parents.

One practical solution to this widespread issue is to push for a default 50/50 custody arrangement for good fathers in Ohio. By establishing a baseline of equal parenting time, we can mitigate the disparities that currently exist and ensure that both parents have a fair opportunity to be involved in their children's lives from the start. It is essential to have policies that support and protect the rights of fathers who are committed to actively engaging in their children's lives.

We urge the Ohio legislative bodies to review and amend current custody laws to reflect the reality that children benefit most when both parents are allowed equal involvement. This change would promote fairness and equity, reducing the chances of parent alienation and ensuring that children have the love and support they need from both of their parents.

Please help countless fathers and children like my daughter, Sydni, by standing against parent alienation and advocating for equal parental rights. Let's work together to create a more just and compassionate system for families in Ohio. Sign this petition to make a change."
