Enshrine Bad News Brown/Allen in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025

The Issue

Bad News Brown/Allen has always been a significant figure in my personal journey of wrestling fandom. His larger-than-life persona, seamless technique, and unyielding dedication to the sport has inspired countless including myself. However, it's disheartening to see his contributions overlooked when it comes to the WWE Hall of Fame, specifically the class of 2025.

Bad News Brown, born Allen James Coage, had a long and illustrious career in the world of wrestling. Not only did he serve as a shining beacon for many in the sport, but he also championed the notion of breaking barriers, being one of the few African-American wrestlers to achieve such prominence during his time. His achievements span from holding the IWW International Heavyweight title to becoming a true sensation with his unforgettable character in WWE.

In addition, Allen was also an accomplished judoka, even winning the bronze medal in Judo at the 1976 Summer Olympics, making him one of the few wrestlers to have such an expansive cross-disciplinary background (reference - WWE Beyond the Ring, Bad News Brown documentary).

His career and legacy extend far beyond the squared circle. It's more than his victories and titles. It's about what he represented, the path he paved for future generations in the wrestling industry, and the undying passion he brought to the sport. His pioneer spirit should be preserved in our hearts, and this is incomplete without his induction in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2025.

A Hall of Fame is regarded as a repository for preserving and acknowledging those who have made notable contributions to their field. By disregarding Allen’s contributions, we undermine the very essence of a Hall of Fame. Recognizing and honoring his legacy is a matter of respect and gratitude for what he has given to the world of wrestling.

That's why I urge you to join me in this effort to petition for the induction of Bad News Brown/Allen into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Sign this petition and let our collective voice bring justice to his name.
