The Issue
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH — REVIEW THE RECORD - ERIE COUNTY FAMILY COURTHOUSE FILE# 247536
I am William Owen Fowlkes Jr., a 61-year-old disabled father, and I am calling for independent oversight and a documented review of the handling of my proceedings in Erie County Family Court, Buffalo, New York.
My concerns include the handling of disability accommodations, notice and scheduling, access to records, my efforts to proceed pro se, assigned counsel, and Social Security/child-support accounting. I have preserved correspondence, filings, notices, and other records that I believe deserve independent examination.
My concerns also include the conduct and handling of proceedings before Judge Kelly A. Brinkworth. I am not asking social media to decide whether misconduct occurred. I am asking the authorities with lawful jurisdiction to examine the evidence, review the record, and determine that question through the proper process.
Most importantly, this is about my son.
I did not abandon my child. I have continued fighting to establish and protect my relationship with him. I want him to grow up knowing that his father kept showing up, kept documenting, and kept seeking a lawful opportunity to be heard.
WHAT I AM ASKING FOR
I am calling for an independent review of the handling of my case; examination of my disability-access and due-process concerns; preservation and review of relevant records and communications; transparent examination of the Social Security and child-support issues I have raised; and review by appropriate state or federal authorities wherever the evidence falls within their jurisdiction.
This petition does not ask the public to determine custody, decide disputed allegations, or substitute signatures for the judicial process.
It asks for something fundamental:
OPEN THE RECORD.
PRESERVE THE EVIDENCE.
FOLLOW THE LAW.
PROTECT DISABILITY ACCESS.
REQUIRE TRANSPARENCY.
LET DUE PROCESS WORK.
If an independent investigation establishes misconduct, I am asking the appropriate authorities to take whatever action the law authorizes.
I'M NOT ASKING YOU TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.
I'M ASKING THEM TO OPEN THE RECORD.
