Kelvin river

Hi I have some great news I received email today with some updates about kelvin river                                                                     regarding Kelvindale Weir (The Slushie).
 
A site visit along the River Kelvin Walkway was undertaken in February 2026 in conjunction with the Glasgow Humane Society. Our team is currently issuing a contract to install ‘Strong Undercurrents Danger of Drowning’ signs at the Slushie (Kelvindale Weir), Great Western Road Weir and Queen Margaret Weir. A review of appropriate safety equipment locations was undertaken and there are proposals to install lifebelts at four locations next to footbridges. The Slushie was not deemed suitable due to the fence and distance from the river.
