There has been really no change to report. USA hockey refuses to discuss the disregards of their codes of conduct that continue to be broken. The local section refuses to give me dates or the outcome to a hearing that myself and or my son have the right to make sure what is presented is the truth. At one hearing a coach was allowed to lie when there was video evidence, email evidence, witness evidence that his rescue inhaler was withheld from him during a game and my son played while struggling to breathe. It took the coach 12 minutes from the time my son asked for the inhaler till it was given. Then he was mocked by the coach for his medical condition and the fact he was properly taking his inhaler. His claim “He took too much and I was afraid what would happen since he overdosed”- Head Coach. It was albuterol and if he was so concerned of an over dose wouldn’t he reach out to medical or me his mother. Insufficient evidence was the reason he was not found at fault for anything. As for the other allegations, there has not been one word, and those coaches president and players are all still active in the sport. While the victim of this has had a hit to his mental health, lost his friends, his self confidence and was “blacklisted” from playing in the area. Let me remind everyone this is recreational youth sports, it is meant for fun socialization and exercise. Most important FUN!
