How does an adult withhold life saving medication during an asthma attack and it’s considered fine.

What happened…. My son asked for his inhaler that the coach asked to keep on the bench, because he was punishing him for getting off the ice to use use it, shortly after the the first period had started. He was told no. The coach siad he would let him know when he needed it. He sat on the bench for almost 3 minutes before returning to the ice, more than enough time to use his inhaler. However he was sent out for another shift, he was in obvious respiratory distress. Upon returning to the bench he asked again for it. It was another two minutes till he was given his his inhaler. Then mocked by the coach for how he was using the inhaler, the correct way.

NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO CALL FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION

my son told two boards what happened
Emails were sent to the president of the organization and to NYSHA
There is video to show exactly how my son explained the situation
Another teammate witnessed what happend, a message sent to me from the parent saying how bad they felt for my son

The coaches side, his many different versions of what he says happened

My son asked he was given it right away, however he used more than what he was suppose to (my son would never). This was during the second period. The coach was worried about an overdose so he didn’t send him out for shifts, upsetting my son so he wanted to get off the ice. He could also tell I was visibly angry because he was not playing. I had no idea what was going on till after the fact. (My son got off before the third period because the coach also yelled at him about another medical condition)
My son asked for the inhaler in the second period given it right away, asked again in the third period but the coach said no because he had just had it. He wasn’t even on the ice for the third period
When we arrived we were so late they coaches had to help my son get ready, then my son asked me for his inhaler I refused to give it to him and he threw a tantrum. We were a little late but he was already dressed and once my son my son entered the locker room I did not see him till he left the ice in tears.
In a 45 minute meeting the coach had many diffrent ways this incident happened, all included my son being a liar.

I did not make a complaint to anyone higher up. Past experiences has shown me that the governing bodies really don’t care what happens to the children, they have safeguards in place to ensure misconduct does not occur and if it does then there are repercussions. But it seems as though USA Hockey would rather turn a blind eye to what is going on. Allowing abusive people to abuse and mistreat children and their parents.
