The Issue

A job dismissal can often be a disheartening and confusing experience, especially without a clear explanation for the termination. Currently, in many areas, there is no legal requirement for employers to provide a well-defined reason for dismissal, leaving employees in uncertainty and potential unfairness. According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's reports, in 2019 about 72,675 workers reported workplace discrimination. The actual number could be higher, as many might remain unreported due to lack of justifiable proof. This reinforces the need for employers to provide clear explanations for terminations. We believe that requiring employers to provide a valid reason for termination would ensure more transparency and fair play in the workplace. It would be a step towards eliminating arbitrary dismissals, ensuring career safety for many hard-working individuals. It's time we pushed for legislation that safeguards employees by demanding reasons for job dismissals. Sign this petition to prompt our lawmakers to create a law mandating employers to provide justified reasons for any job terminations.
