The Wissahickon Creek is polluted with trash.

This photo - which is just one of many - was taken on 14th August, less than a mile downstream from the Devil's Pool area. 

While The Devil's Pool is and has become a major battleground in this fight to Save The Wissahickon Creek, the pollution is not confined to this area.  There are multiple unauthorized "party spots" beginning at Bells Mill Road spanning several miles throughout the park to West Walnut Lane. 

To understand the scope of the problem, one would have to spend the afternoon, hiking the entire Wissahickon Valley Park area, not simply the Orange Trail and Forbidden Drive - but the entire park, to see for oneself the massive amount of litter and garbage strewn about the area - and in the Wissahickon Creek itself. 

This is why this petition is so important to the community.  It belongs to Philadelphia. We must stand in solidarity as a community and as a city, and fight for change. We can make a difference.
