The Battle At Devil's Pool: August 2026.

Today we have a little over 1,250 signatures - and counting.

Temporary signage has been placed throughout the park, and the rules are slowly being enforced.

One of the main goals of our petition is to have permanent signs installed in problem areas, especially at the Devil's Pool area of the Creek - which is a large wrap-around spot beginning a few hundred feet along the orange trail on the Wissahickon Creek, snaking in a serpentine curve toward the confluence of the Cresheim Creek tributary where the two large rocks abut over the water.  

An additional access point to this area is across the Creek on the Forbidden Drive side. This side has also become a popular party spot and its creekbed is littered with massive amounts of garbage and makeshift firepits. 

Temporary signs can be removed by malicious actors, so permanent signage remains the goal. This will take time so we must be patient. 

Please continue to share this petition as some older Philadelphians may not utilize social media.  I am reviewing options for flyers and ads, but there are restrictions : it is not permitted to place them on city-owned utility poles, and it is against park rules to staple them onto trees or fence posts.  In the meantime, I'm utilizing TikTok with a creative ad campaign in order to continue to raising awareness. 

There are approximately 1.57 million people in the city of Philadelphia and roughly 43.7 thousand residents in Roxborough and Manayunk alone.  Let us continue to stand in solidarity as a community and circulate this petition. 

Our voices are being heard, and we are making a difference.  Much like the Wissahickon Creek, this petition belongs to all of us.
