Sad News! Grupo Piñero and Bahia Principe

In May 2017 2 guests of the Grand Bahia Principe Resort complex in Punta Cana protested vehemently against the frequent animal abuse by the hotel staff against the resort cats including the killing of a mother cat. Their review on Tripadvisor received more than 160 Likes, the German travel company Schauinsland asked the resort management to spay and neuter the cats and the hotel management seemed to be very much in favor of a spay & neuter campaign in the near future , they also wanted to install feeding stations and educate the staff. In July we were informed that because of personal changes in the management we had to contact the resort owner directly, the Grupo Piñero with seat in Spain. Although we and many animal lovers whom we thank very, very much wrote to them we never received a reaction. We have to conclude therefore that the family Piñero who runs 26 resorts in total is neither concerned about animal welfare nor about the wishes of their guests and we cannot recommend the following hotels to animal friends without reservations: RESORTS IN THE CARIBBEAN Dominican Republic, Samaná • Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado • Luxury Bahia Principe Samana • Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa • Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo Dominican Republic, La Romana • Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville • Grand Bahia Principe La Romana Dominican Republic, Punta Cana • Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia • Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green • Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue • Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda • Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro • Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana • Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa Dominican Republic, Rio San Juan • Grand Bahia Principe San Juan Mexico, Riviera Maya • Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal • Luxury Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an • Grand Bahia Principe Coba • Grand Bahia Principe Tulum Jamaica, Runaway Bay • Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay • Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica HOTELS IN SPAIN Teneriffa • Bahia Principe Costa Adeje • Bahia Principe San Felipe • Bahia Principe Tenerife Mallorca • Bahia Principe Coral Playa • Hotel Piñero Bahia de Palma • Hotel Piñero Tal
