According to the Insurance Information Institute, in 2015, an estimated 13% of motorists were uninsured, with Nevada riding higher than the national average at 10.6%. We urge Mayor Goodman, Governor Lombardo, and Sheriff McMahill to take firm action against such unlawful practices. By introducing stricter penalties, we can potentially discourage this rule-breaking behavior. The lax administration of these laws encourages drivers to skirt responsibility, thereby compromising the safety of all road users. We cannot stand idle while this problem grows. A crackdown on motorists flouting the law is needed to protect our communities from harm and financial risk. We call upon our local elected politicians and police departments to ensure our rights and safety are prioritized.
