The anti-social behaviors, particularly littering by students who rent these properties, has not only marred the beauty of our surroundings but has also created a difficult living environment for the families residing here. As one of the few families remaining, the lack of accountability from landlords adds to the frustration, as the streets and properties are left untidy.

The rise in HMOs, while catering to student housing needs, has inadvertently resulted in an environment that disregards the well-being of permanent residents. The landlords, while reaping financial rewards, often neglect their responsibility to maintain the properties' exterior and ensure tenants respect the neighborhood.

It is imperative to introduce measures that hold landlords accountable for the upkeep of their properties, particularly the exteriors, and impose fines for neglect. Landlords should actively manage their properties, ensuring that tenants do not litter and maintain cleanliness.
