Last Wednesday, we rallied in Westminster and marched to Downing Street to deliver our petition. Over 650,000 people have now signed demanding Energy For All.
We were joined by over 100 people including supportive MPs and campaigners from multiple parties and movements. Together, we stood united in calling for a radical overhaul of our energy pricing system, that puts people and the planet before profit.
We held an upside down cutout of then Prime Minister, Liz Truss, to symbolize our upside down energy pricing system. Meanwhile, scenes inside parliament descended into an utter farce due to a government who's priorities are entirely upside down.
Fuel Poverty Action is blown away by the support our petition has received in the past few months and we hope that you will continue to follow the campaign as we move forward into the next phase.
Our demand is now firmly on the political agenda. The day before our event, a cross-party group of MPs launched an Early Day Motion for a Universal basic energy allowance. You can email your MP with just a couple of clicks asking them to sign the EDM.
If you wish to be stay involved and take further action for Energy For All, sign up to the campaign.
