The tragic death of Laura Newell has sparked the soul destroying narrative of painkiller addiction and access to OTC meds, instead of inciting outrage as to how desperate this lady was to treat the chronic debilitating pain she had to endure as a result of undiagnosed endometriosis.
I'm appalled that there are calls for restricted access to OTC meds, as opposed to calls for access to the proven natural alternative, with least side effects, Cannabis.
I'm disgusted that there is a question of addiction, when there is no question as to why this person was left to manage this detrimental condition all alone with no support from Healthcare professionals, or without even a diagnosis to explain her suffering.
Those of us who have been diagnosed, often find ourselves accused of 'drug seeking' when in fact, we are in so much pain we cannot function. So, imagine not being diagnosed and facing that stigma? It's torture.
I will be on Circle of White Light radio station tonight from 7-9pm discussing life with endometriosis, access to pain management and failures of the 'not-fit-for-purpose' MCAP program.
As far as I am concerned, at this point, any doctor or government official who continues to ignore/deny/not mention, the scientifically sound, peer reviewed and published data research on cannabis pain management, especially in those with endometriosis, are ACTIVELY playing a role in the unnecessary deaths and prolonged suffering of us all.
I hope the souls we have lost can Rest in Peace and I long for the day that the rest of us still here, can Live in Peace.
Please tune in and have your say on how we can move forward together.
