Help Our Yulin Angels

Help Our Yulin Angels
The Issue
In June each year the cruel Yulin Dog Meat ' Festival' takes place and we need your help. For 14 years, our charity and its China team have borne witness to the horrific cruelty the dogs ( and sometimes cats) endure. We have seen this torture festival grow in size with the media frenzy and dozens of kind-hearted activists doing all they can to save dogs and end this atrocity. Despite global awareness, it continues.
The killings even took place during the global pandemic, and last year despite national lockdowns, a truck on the way to the festival was stopped with over 2000 dogs.
Dogs are killed in small dirty slaughterhouses behind the vendor's stalls. As our footage will show, they are blow torched. Dog farms about an hour from Yulin are used to supply demand. There are dog meat restaurants everywhere and not just in Yulin.
Many dogs, as we bore witness in 2022, are stolen pets with government-issued ID collars.
Beijing has paid only lip service to every NGO demand on animal cruelty. They claim to want to hand out fines for illegal public killings. Yet, we have all seen the controls they put on us when we try to bring rescued dogs back to safety.
The view from Beijing is that Yulin is some ' far away province' and that eating dogs there is an isolated practice. It just isn't true. Last year our team worked to uncover some of the most horrific slaughterhouses in many parts of China, and dog meat markets continue to exist.
Dogs and cats are supposed to be on the 'safelist', meaning they are not meant to be livestock. No animal deserves to be eaten, and no animal deserves to suffer.
We can not begin to describe the fear in the little dog's eyes as they plead for their lives.
The Yulin Dog Meat Torture Festival is not just animal abuse. It is unsanitary. Practically every dog we have saved is riddled with contagious infectious diseases.
This is not culture. It is cruelty.
We need to get as many signatures as we can and take to the street to say #NoToDogMeat
We need to #EndYulinForever
We will never give up until the cruelty ends. #JoinUs #NoActionTooSmall

Our brave team of activists and rescuers will go back to Yulin and continue to make a difference
